Hay Day is Supercell's beloved farming simulation game — the same developer behind Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, and Brawl Stars. Since its 2012 release, Hay Day has accumulated over 100 million downloads and remains one of the top-grossing casual games in the App Store worldwide. If you've been managing your farm on a small phone screen, moving to PC with BlueStacks gives you a full view of your farm layout, faster interaction with a mouse, and no battery anxiety during long farming sessions.

Like all Supercell games, Hay Day has no anti-cheat system that penalizes manual PC play. BlueStacks is fully compatible, and your existing Supercell ID account transfers seamlessly.

Hay Day is a light game by modern standards — even integrated graphics handles it well at 60 FPS. A minimum-spec machine runs it without issue.

Step 1: Download and Install BlueStacks 5

  1. Download BlueStacks 5 from the official BlueStacks website
  2. Run the installer and follow the prompts
  3. If prompted about hardware virtualization (VT-x/AMD-V), check your BIOS and enable it — BlueStacks requires this to run
  4. Launch BlueStacks and sign in with your Google account

Use BlueStacks 5 rather than BlueStacks X. BlueStacks 5 provides the most stable Android environment for Supercell games.

Step 2: Install Hay Day from the Play Store

  1. In BlueStacks, open the Play Store from the home screen
  2. Search for Hay Day and tap Install
  3. Launch Hay Day after installation — it will download a small additional content pack on first run (around 100 MB)

No APK sideloading needed. The official Play Store version works perfectly.

Step 3: Transfer Your Existing Farm

If you already have a Hay Day farm that you want to continue on PC:

Via Supercell ID (recommended):

  1. On your phone, open Hay Day → Settings → Connected → Supercell ID
  2. Create or log in to your Supercell ID if you haven't already
  3. On BlueStacks, launch Hay Day → on the welcome screen, tap Sign in with Supercell ID
  4. Enter your Supercell ID email and verification code
  5. Your farm loads automatically with all progress, barn contents, and decorations

Via Facebook:

  1. On your phone, link your farm to Facebook in Hay Day settings
  2. On BlueStacks, install the Facebook app, sign in to Facebook, then open Hay Day and link via Facebook

Supercell ID is the more reliable method — Facebook linking occasionally causes sync delays or requires reinstalling the Facebook app inside BlueStacks.

Step 4: Configure BlueStacks Performance Settings

Open BlueStacks Settings → Performance:

SettingRecommended Value
CPU Cores2–4
RAM2 GB (Hay Day is light; 4 GB only if running other apps simultaneously)
Performance ModeBalanced or High Performance
FPS60
Graphics EngineDirectX

Hay Day runs well even on minimal resources. You don't need to allocate heavy system resources for this game.

Step 5: In-Game Settings

Hay Day's settings are minimal. In the game settings (gear icon):

The game targets 60 FPS by default in BlueStacks.

Step 6: Set Up Keymapping

Open BlueStacks Keymapping Editor with Ctrl+Shift+A. Hay Day uses tap-based controls throughout, so keymapping is optional but useful for repetitive actions.

Suggested keymaps:

KeyAction
SpaceConfirm / OK (tap center of dialog box)
NOpen Neighborhood panel
SOpen Shop
RExpand/Collect from production machine (tap target)
Scroll WheelZoom in/out on farm
Mouse dragPan the farm view

For harvesting and collecting, the mouse is already fast enough. The most valuable keymaps are for confirming dialogs quickly during timed events.

Step 7: Multi-Instance (Second Farm)

Running a second Hay Day account on the same PC is useful for:

Setup:

  1. Open BlueStacks Multi-Instance Manager from the side bar
  2. Create a Fresh Instance (not a clone)
  3. Allocate 2 CPU cores / 2 GB RAM to the second instance — Hay Day doesn't need much
  4. Sign into the second instance with a different Google account
  5. Install Hay Day and create a new farm (or link a second Supercell ID)

Gifting mechanics on PC: In Hay Day, you can gift items to Neighborhood members. If your two farms are in the same Neighborhood, running both on PC lets you send gifts across accounts without picking up your phone.

Common Fixes

Black screen after launching Hay Day:

"Your device is not compatible" in Play Store:

Farm not loading / stuck on loading screen:

Supercell ID login fails with verification email not arriving:

Mouse scroll zoom is too sensitive:

Game runs at less than 60 FPS:

Hay Day says "Network Error" every few minutes:

Both emulators work well for Hay Day. BlueStacks is recommended for consistency with other Supercell games if you already use it for Clash of Clans or Brawl Stars.

Hay Day PC Gameplay Tips

Farm layout planning: On a 1080p monitor, you can finally see your entire farm in one glance. Use this to identify idle production machines and uncollected crops without scrolling around.

Newspaper strategy: The Hay Day Newspaper (where other players' roadside shops appear) is faster to browse with a mouse than on touch. Click through listings quickly to snag discounted items before other players.

Truck and Boat orders: Truck orders refresh every few minutes. At PC resolution, you can see all three order boards at once and drag-and-drop items to fill orders efficiently.

Greg's Farm (the Valley): Valley events require placing workers and collecting rewards on a separate farm. The larger screen view makes it much easier to coordinate Valley layout — something that feels cramped on phones.

Fishing: Fishing is one of the most relaxing Hay Day activities. On PC, the line-casting mechanic (click and hold, then release at the right moment) benefits slightly from mouse precision over touch.

Diamond efficiency: Hay Day's diamonds are the premium currency. On PC with a larger view, you're less likely to accidentally tap a diamond prompt by mistake — a common phone frustration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is playing Hay Day on BlueStacks against Supercell's rules? No. Supercell does not prohibit manual emulator play for Hay Day, Clash of Clans, or Brawl Stars. Only automated bots and macros are against the Terms of Service.

Will I lose my farm progress if I switch to PC? No, as long as you link via Supercell ID or Facebook before switching. Your farm, animals, level, barn contents, and diamonds all transfer.

Can I use the same Supercell account on both my phone and BlueStacks? Yes, but only one device can be active at a time. Launching on BlueStacks will log you out on your phone, and vice versa.

What if I never linked my farm to Supercell ID or Facebook? Older farms tied only to a Google Play Games account or a specific device may be harder to transfer. Open Hay Day on your phone, go to Settings → Connected, and add a Supercell ID before switching to PC.

Does BlueStacks support Apple/iOS Hay Day accounts? No. BlueStacks runs Android only. If your Hay Day account started on an iPhone and was linked only via Apple ID (not Supercell ID or Facebook), you cannot access it on BlueStacks. Add a Supercell ID on iOS first.

Is there an official Hay Day PC version? No. Supercell has not released a native PC client for Hay Day. BlueStacks is the best solution for PC play.

Does Hay Day work on Mac with BlueStacks? Yes. BlueStacks is available for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel). Performance on M-series Macs is excellent.
